Soul searching

I crave, I yearn for, I want, and most of all...I need.

I don't know if its that or the other. But what I do know is I miss having the fuzzy feelings, the overwhelming sense of belonging and comfort. Being touched spirit and soul.

I miss worship. I miss Bible study. I miss having that kind of support.

Don't get me wrong, I have friends who support just fine here. Its just that certain kind that I miss so much.

And because of this, again, I miss home. And those there. And the church I grew up in.

Whats even crazier is that my plans to be home for a whole month in June have just been shot down. And that makes me crave home even more.

You know its funny thing, this feeling inside...

Tummy fillers: Unagi Don & Sashimi

Banana & Peanut butter, and Oreo milkshakes at Ed's Diner @ Soho after.

Brunch:
The Providores @ Marylebone High St
With: Vin
Tummy delights: French toast sandwiched with bananas & pecans, topped with bacon. Thick latte. Homemade tart with creme fraiche shared after.

Museum browsing (not that much) @ the Vic&A Museum.

Tea:
Brompton Road Cafe @ South Kensington
Tummy delights: Lemon tart, Latte

Harrods for more browsing and wishful thinking.

Zara, Regent St where I snagged the most affordable gladiator low heeled shoes that I've been searching for so long.

Dinner:
Alounak Restaurant (Iranian cuisine)
With: HueyChin, Wilson & Francis
Tummy fillers: Hummus and mashed friend aubergines, Skewered minced lamb and lamb cutlets with butter rice.
Huge portion which HC and I shared. Such value for money.

Dessert:
Princi @ Soho
Gastro delights: Tiramisu, Chocolate Pear Tart, Berry Mousse Compote, Custard rolls.
Shared by the four of us. :)

Drinks in a bar nearby for a friend's birthday. One glass of magarita gave a good warm buzz.

Sunday
Breakfast:
Mars's flat in Leicester Sq.
With: Mars, Jade, Kamilla, Leanne.
Chocolate pancakes made by Jade.

Lunch:
Dim sum @ Imperial China in Chinatown London.
With: Hsian, Sean, Hann, YiingTing, BoonWy, Melissa, Vinoth, Kim, KaShing.

I eat minimal during the weekdays and looks like I splurge on the weekends. In true Malaysian fashion, the timetable revolves around food.
Thank you all for making this weekend so wonderful. :)

I have 5 days to detox before heading off to Vienna!

There are a couple new movies I'm anticipating during the season of summer blockbusters this year. And TWO of them have my favourite eye candy actor in it. Wolverine, and The Proposal. :D

There are obviously more movies with dishy actors, but honestly, at my age, Zac Efron really shouldn't count anymore.

As teams and players would say,

Its time to regroup.

Time for a change in strategy.

Time for more enlightenment.

Time to turn to the right source for my direction.

Time to stop hoping for what will never be.

Time for dreams to become more realistic.

The higher you hope, the further you fall..

I think I'm just scared.of realising 3 years down the road, where did my last 3 yrs go to? Could I have been happier back home with all that support I have? Would I been with you? Or you? Again, too many questions go unanswered.
I raise my eyes to the hills yet again..give me the help I need.

Spring beckons thoughts

Almost 4 years ago, I asked myself "where do we go from here?"

Now, I ask myself "where do I go from here?" A tweak to that line above, which coincidentally is from the musical Evita.

Choices. They aren't easy to make. Seeking divine intervention is easier said than done I always felt. True, its the first thing I turn to.. but there's a cynic in all of us.

After London, where will I be.

The weather improves and so does my mood.

Maybe we'll get to do silly things like this again in summer.

I learn to love it a lil' bit more each day..

What London makes you do during this wintry season

Your fingers turn red from the numbing cold.

Your feet slip on the sidewalk from the frozen slush and ice.

Your snot still turns black although everything around you is white.

You feel the exhaustion from the commute to and fro during peak hour.

You find it hard to keep your balance whilst maintaining concentration not to fall.

You curse the weather a bit more than you should and others around you.

You snarl and grumble with the slower pacers in the underground and along the streets.

During this time too however,

It is where you can meet many friends away from home to celebrate festivities and birthdays alike.

Where you can find your choice of musicals just around each corner. I managed to catch Chicago last weekend. :)

You like the snow because everything just shuts down and schools close. Best of all if you can't possibly get into work, you get the day off. But you do however have a hard time making up for that one extra day. >.<

Best thing about the snow? Snowball fights. :P London has never been this white. We're hoping for a massive snowball fight this weekend in Warwick.

This week has got to be the busiest and most tiring of all so far.

God I feel old. Happy birthday me.

New year resolutions?

Lately all I can ask are questions. Questions after more questions after even more questions. I've always had an inquisitive mind, I think my mother can vouch for that. I remember my A Levels teacher also asking me why I used to ask so many questions.

Maybe its the uncertainty in life ahead. The unknown. The oh-so-over-used word, 'Future'. My future. Where? When? How? Who?

I'm glad that I have one thing constant in my life. He never fails even though I stumble blindly along at times, like groping in the dark. He always answers, although it may not be a 'Yes' each time. He provides and I believe I can reach great heights only if He is there with me.

Time to settle into a church here. Once I have my new mode of transportation, I will get crackin' on that.

I find myself asking this question the most often: Where will I be in 3 years' time?
I guess that's simply because I know I'm secure until then. But after that, what? The credit crunch in England has shaken a lot of people and families. I'm starting to feel it and worry for something they call job security. Can You step in and provide for me again? I'm actually pretty glad for busy season and not complaining so far.

I've only asked for one thing this year.

On top of passing my exams of course...

I miss you two very much.

Heritage mapping in Malacca this last holiday was really really cool. :)

I always found Mr Big's comment about soulmates funny and cryptic from SATC. You know which one it is right?

There are just some things that will never leave my memory. And some things that will remain weirdly connected for a long time.
